It’s been another long time since I have posted here. Well I’ve been very busy the past weeks as I’ve been working on a project basis, from one project to another, date crunching deadlines plus my lovely smooth sail on going to school. As I have been working at dawn and sometimes without sleep, days and weeks seems to be so fast. Now I present to you the result of my three weeks jail here in our house! The UIC-ITE Promo Video!
I know it seems so late to post something about this work as this was presented last week at our school. But for now, I’m still glad that I have the time to write something little (or long) about it. But before that, enjoy watching!
From start to finish of this project. Everything is by yours truly.
Of course I started from simple ideas. I sketched some of them.

Then followed by the interview phase, it was really hard for me to capture the video and interview at the same time, I never thought that it was really a tough job. But of course I have no choice but to get it done. Then after all those interviews, I captured everything in my pc then started to cherry pick the right video scenes for my conceptualized sequence. That was all done using Adobe Premiere. And when the sequences of video seems right for me, I quickly pass the rendered images to Blender for some 3d effects.
On dealing with the effects I had so many aspiring ideas. But those ideas didn’t fit in my project time line. Well I manage to do some of the models but I stopped and decided not to include it because it’s more likely impossible to fit in the time frame.

Even though I opt to cut out so many scenes. And had so many glitches in the effects. I’m still very happy on the output. Finishing this project in the given time frame is my first priority than leaving this project hanging.
I reeeeaallyyyy really learned a lot in this project. From conceptualization, planning, project organization, and up to time management. I ended up learning a lot of whole new things. It was a great pleasure that Sir Jerry Flores trusted me to do this project. It was really great! And if ever I had another similar project, I’ll surely do much better.

All I can say Mon is WOW! As in SUPER WOW! You might want to share this amazing video to our fellow IBM representatives. Just drop by the Lab, they will be most likely stay for about a month. I’m sure, they’ll be glad to see your craft. And you talked about “planning, project organization, and up to time management”, I heard that the representatives prepared a talk on this topic. Congrats Mon for another Blender Job well done. BTW, love to see those sketches.
