Updated to Wordpress 2.6 plus WordCamp Davao

The Wordpress hype has gone way to high. Wordpress seems to be the standard blogging platform for everyone in the blogosphere. And wordpress updates are also going fast. To keep up to this pace, I also updated to 2.6! And I’ll also join Wordcamp Davao! Wheew, WP seems like a caffeine in the internet.

I’ll start off with my Update to 2.6. I’m always in doubt to update, it always feels like something will just breaks off and I’ll need another day to fix those problems. But luckily, with the help of Wordpress Automatic Upgrade everything really went well. I never encountered any problems during the update. Well, when everything was finished updating. When I checked and test the site, my permalinks gone mad. Of course friendly Google found the fix. Everything went well when I just added “category” and “tag” to the category and tag bases.

And for the anticipated WordCamp Philippines which will be held at Manila, well, my pocket is confused if it can grab some budget for it. But lucky again, a mini-WordCamp is on its way here in Davao.

WordCamp Davao

Before the main event in Manila, we will hold a mini-WordCamp in Davao City on 4 September 2008 (Thursday), from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Venue to be advised soon.

Matt Mullenweg will be attending this occasion as well, and will be meeting up with the bloggers and developers of Davao. Hopefully, people from the neighboring cities — our fellow Mindanao bloggers — will find the time to join us too.

I’m definitely thankful that WordCamp will be available here in Davao! Thanks to the WordCamp Philippines Sponsors:

and also to the organizers and Mindanao Bloggers and lastly thanks to Wordpress. ^^

See you there!
